“From these the coastland peoples spread in their lands, each with his own language, by their clans, in their nations. … These are the sons of Ham, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations. … These are the sons of Shem, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations. These are the clans of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, in their nations, and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood.” (Ge 10:5,20,31-32)
“And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God.” (Ac 17:26-27)
The Book of Genesis tells us about the beginnings of all things. The first eleven chapters are an overview of the history of mankind up to the calling of Abraham and the chosen people. Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters, but only the lineage of Noah through their son Seth is described in detail because it is from Noah that all the nations of the earth have their beginnings.
When you count the sons of Noah you will find that they were seventy. Japhet had 14, Ham 30 and Shem 26 descendants. They spread out over the earth and developed their own languages as is described in chapter 11. There are according to the Bible 70 major language groups and nations in the earth, plus the chosen nation of Israel “a people dwelling alone, and not counting itself among the nations!” (Nu 23:9) The Song of Moses will be sung by the overcomers over the beast and his image and the number of his name in the end times (Rev 15:2-3). It is very important to learn this song. It says:
“Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you. When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. For the Lord’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance.” (De 32:7-9 NIV)
Here we once again see that Israel is not counted among the rest of the nations, because they are the chosen people of God. In order to be an overcomer in the end times, it is necessary to understand the truth about the calling of Israel.
God arranged the rest of mankind into seventy nations with their languages in order that they would seek Him. However, in the end, just as it happened in the beginning at the tower of Babel, humanity will once again unite in a rebellion against God and the chosen, holy nation of Israel. God will save His people, and the enemies will help destroy each other because they have forsaken Him and rebelled against him.
However, a remnant from the nations of every tribe, language and tribe, will be grafted into Israel through faith in Messiah, to inherit the promises with Israel. Paul wrote to these Gentile believers in Rome: “you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree.” (Ro 11:24) Israel is the cultivated olive tree. “This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” (Eph 3:6) God promised Abraham: “in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Ge 12:3)
